Project Overview

The SolarCatcher project at Phoenix Academy (WS3 2ED) includes four mono-pitch single carport units with extended overhangs, designed to deliver maximum on-site solar generation and weather protection. The installation produces 29,655 kWh of renewable energy per year, providing clean power directly to the academy’s facilities. In its first year, the system achieves a net cost saving of £3,900, with lifetime avoided energy costs projected at £98,000 over 25 years. Over its lifespan, the project will also offset 158 tonnes of CO₂, supporting the academy’s long-term sustainability and Net Zero commitments while enhancing everyday functionality for staff and students.
