UK-based electrical parts manufacturer Lucy Electric has launched a dedicated EV infrastructure business to provide integrated hardware and lifecycle support.
With the introduction of Lucy Electric EV Infrastructure (LEEVI), the company will invest in a purpose-built manufacturing facility in Sowerby Bridge, West Yorkshire, England. Lucy Electric, known for its switchgear and digital solutions for electricity distribution and EV infrastructure, aims to strengthen its market presence.
LEEVI will unite Lucy Electric with Lucy Zodion, another Lucy Group company specializing in on-street connections for EV charging. While the two have previously collaborated, they will now operate under a single brand.
John Griffiths, CEO of Lucy Electric, stated that this unified approach simplifies the process for chargepoint operators, allowing them to work with one partner for deployments at locations such as forecourts and fleet depots.
LEEVI will handle the supply and installation of EV infrastructure, as well as provide chargepoint monitoring and support.
This expansion into EV infrastructure highlights the significant market opportunities created by the electrification of transport.
Similarly, UK independent connections provider Sinewave launched a dedicated EV business earlier this year, offering high and low voltage electrical services for infrastructure projects across the UK, with turnkey solutions up to 400kV.
